91 DX motor in my 91 Si

Yup you heard right. My piston rings are toast in my D16a6 so im gonna pull it to get it rebuilt and better.
My buddy is going to sell his 91 COMPLETE DX motor with tranny and clutch for $100. So this is what i want to do...Put the DX motor and swap over my MPFI intake manifold. Does it sound right? I just want to make sure my ECU will correspond to this and everything will go great with no "extra wires n such".

This whole DX motor in my Si is only going to last for a month or so, so you guys think this will work out?

all you need is the longblock without the intake manifold or exaust manifold of the D15 install the MPFI of the D16 and away you go. The D15 will probably run Rich so you will want to adjust for that.

don't the si's have a slightly more aggressive cam and better head work? it may be benifical to put the si head on the dx block while you're at it

my 91 Si has everything 'Si' except for the block/head themselves (those are d15b). it works great :P

alright, so it'll be a plug and play swap since im gonna keep my intake maifold on the d15 head right?

One question, will the axles of my Si tranny fit the DX tranny? Becasue i dont think i will be getting axles with it.

i'm *pretty* sure it'll all be plug and play..even the axles. i think the Si's and Dx's have the same tranny including the axles, except for slightly different gearing.

yeah dude..the axles should work...as noted above Si & DX trannies are the same except for gearing (I even think the gearing is the same, just a different final drive making the Si rev higher, can't remember where I saw that tho ) - Since you are only doing this for a short period, I think less work is better, so just bolt your d15 head/block to the Si intake manifold. I wouldn't mess around trying to make your Si head fit the DX block...you might as well rebuild it to while doing the block.
